Classes are taught by a deaf instructor. Students will learn about Deaf Culture and how to carry on an everyday conversation with deaf individuals. Role playing and games designed to teach basic signs are used as tools. By the end of level one, students will know the alphabet, numbers, how to introduce themselves and exchange personal information. Classes are taught twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks held at DILA, 806 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury, MD. COVID Guidelines are in place and will be followed to ensure everyone’s safety. Upon arrival everyone has their temperature checked, hand sanitizer is available, students are socially distanced, masks required, high touch areas sanitized daily and classroom sanitized after each use.
It is highly recommended that ASL 1 students continue to learn ASL by registering for ASL Level 2 which immediately follows ASL Level 1.
